Robots are roaming grocery store aisles! What is next for AI and Agriculture?
The speed at which AI is influencing our daily experiences is also impacting our relationship with agriculture; many people are just unaware of the why and how of AI implementation across the industry. This research and writing project seeks to inspire connectivity between farmer ingenuity and machines empowered with AI. The stories and data in forthcoming reports will represent a global snapshot of the intersectionality of AI and agriculture for 2024.
This project will be exploring what it means to grow food and eat within the context of expanding AI influence upon global economic systems, agricultural practices, and regional ecologies that sustain life. A collaborative effort between creative thinkers, farmers, and AI advocates–we are searching for resilient agricultural solutions in the face of climate change.
The goal is to share stories about innovative uses of AI to bolster local agriculture economies and to raise concerns of AI rollout in industrial agriculture and its impact upon the land, ecology, and worker health/rights.
Our interest in this topic revolves around chemical-free agricultural production and regional distribution. We want to explore how AI can improve real-time distribution networks for local growers and vendors at the county and state level to support USDA commodity food distribution for schools, prisons, public institutions, and government offices.
If you are a tech company or AI innovator looking to field-test your products and services, please contact us to connect with growers. A group of farmers and horticulturalists is ready to implement AI in their business models and growing plans.
If you are a content creator, social influencer, photographer or video producer and want to support this project, please be in touch.
The collective narrative around AI is expanding exponentially daily. Now is the time to voice our concerns and dreams for AI and agriculture–to benefit all life and every future human generation.
